Early Bird Special
Want to get started a little early? If you make updates to the FSD before the start of the Friday meeting, please feel free to add updates here. Also, if you have some matters you'd like to discuss during the meeting, this is a great place to make not of them.
Code of Conduct
I am very dismayed by how many of the people in the technology industry who think they they ought to be the thought police with the code of conduct, to push people who've been in the technology industry for decades out of the technology industry with a cabal of social justice warriors, and I think that we ought to take a stance to support the rights of developers and in the community rather than on restricting rights.
Developer Bill of Rights
Too often people and governments use tactics of fear, uncertainty and doubt, in order to justify the undue power and unjust enrichment they claim to need, they allude to a sense of noblesse oblige to not only justify their power but also our obedience. However the FSF should stand for liberal values of freedom from coercion and not freedom from offence, for power corrupts and just governments can be corrupt so too can organizations become corrupt with unchecked power, and arguments grounded on harassment have been used by governments to impose true oppression. So in the nature of freedom I propose that the FSF suggest a developer bill of rights, and an open governance constitution to protect those rights, and the rights of free and open source software projects and communities.
Came a little late or had some thoughts about the meeting?
