I get email if you post here, so go for it.

I answered https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/Talk:ARChon_Packager. --David Hedlund (talk) 23:05, 14 October 2016 (EDT)

got it. --IanK (talk) 03:06, 15 October 2016 (EDT)

Do not delete unapproved entries, it is work from the community that need to be revised. --David Hedlund (talk) 15:03, 15 October 2016 (EDT)

I recommend newbies to join the FSD meetings to learn the basics and ask FSF staff questions. See here: https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/Free_Software_Directory:Meetings. I am very aware of the license notices issues as I've been working for over 2 years on this wiki; we don't delete such entries, we contact the author and ask the person to add license noticies and a license file, so we can approve the entry. --David Hedlund (talk) 15:14, 15 October 2016 (EDT)

David Hedlund: Ya, actually I realized after I said that it is better not to delete it, at least not for a much longer time, like years of time. What we need is an alternate list than the "unapproved pages", if we review all of the unapproved pages and there are still hundreds of them waiting on licensing issues or other improvements before approval, then there is no list which can be used to identify what which unapproved pages actually need review. I will try and figure out a solution in the next meeting. Thanks.

I made this Semantic Form edit (https://directory.fsf.org/wiki?title=Template:Show&diff=prev&oldid=36951), it make lists only ask for entries with all license information fields filled: On the IceCat entry let alone the number of extensions melted from ~150 to ~50! I'll try to catch up in at the meeting on Friday. --David Hedlund (talk) 03:51, 19 October 2016 (EDT)

that is good. --IanK (talk)

One more thing. I'm in desperate need for IceCat add-on repository volunteers for this page: Free_Software_Directory:IceCat_extensions_(proposed). Think about it. --David Hedlund (talk) 03:53, 19 October 2016 (EDT)

David Hedlund, once I get the unapproved pages list down more manageable, I'd love to help. --IanK (talk)
Great, I listed you in Free_Software_Directory:IceCat_extensions_(proposed)/Dev. I need someone to proof-read with good English as my native language is Swedish, and Mangeurdenuage's (a new volunteer) native language is French. You can send me an email at public@beloved.name when you feel ready to help. --David Hedlund (talk) 10:54, 29 October 2016 (EDT)
FYI, can you please revise the license and approve these entries before you begin to help us with the IceCat add-on project?: ZCoin, ZCash. All of them are significant important.
talk: Thanks, done. --IanK (talk)
You are my hero Ian! =)
Just a reminder, when you Edit, set "Last reviewed by" "(Change this to your user name in case you have made substantial edits or have updated the version") to your name, in all entries. Please apply this to all appropriate entries showed in you Contributions that you forgot to do so for. I noticed that you missed to do this in my requested entries for example.
Feel free to update Free_Software_Directory:Participate if this wasn't clear, I read that you have good documentation skills.--David Hedlund (talk) 07:14, 30 October 2016 (EDT)

Talk with the FSF before doing important edits

I restored your edits

I, RMS, the FSF, and the community agreed to have it this way. It is not sufficient to just say "I'm going to change this in a day or two" for major work without consensus that can be done at the IRC meetings for example.

Restore the tags on all software entries that you removed. --David Hedlund (talk) 09:57, 21 December 2016 (EST)

User ‎Megalanya is blanking all pages

Hello Ian.

Maybe this is not the correct way,

I just noticed someone is editing project pages, only to blank them.

Thanks, BABA200
